It has become the advent of crossover vehicles with the Chevy Silverado, Ford
F-150, and GMC Sierra trucks with all the powertrain combinations, luxury accommodations
and ample towing capacity. The big-rig-styled Dodge Ram matches the Ford and GM
models in almost all aspects except for the ride comfort and civility. This year
comes the entry of the all-wheel drive and navigation system as additional to
Dodge's full-size pickup. The Ram 1500 models come in two body styles: a 2-dr
regular cab and the Quad Cab 4-dr crew cab in both ST and uplevel SLT trims.
All Rams are available with rear-wheel drive or 4WD that must be disengaged
on dry pavement. AWD is optional for all SLT models that includes low-range gearing
like that of Ram's 4WD. 2004 Dodge Ram rides on competitive 17-inch standard wheels
that manage to go through bumpy pavements. Ram's lean body is well controlled
by its adequate grip, more precise steering capacity, and stronger brakes. The
inside provides a spacious house for adults and the featured power-adjustable
pedals improve comfort and help shorter drivers sit in safe distance from the
steering-wheel airbags.
