The introduction of the Dodge Ram Quad Cab in 1998 came as a shock to the automotive
industry as well as to the other top-performing pickup trucks out in the market.
Dodge was the first to launch the very first full-size extended cab pickup with
four doors. Dodge was the first to have thought of this brilliant idea, however,
everybody in this car industry is catching up.
This year, all Ford F-Series Supercab trucks come with four doors. For the next
two years, Chevrolet and GMC are also expected to offer four doors on their newest
line of trucks. A host of significant changes are outlined for Dodge Ram's lineup
as interiors receive a thorough makeover. Newest features are a passenger-side
air bag that can be switched off, a removable container added under the rear seats
of the Quad cab, 4-wheel antilock brakes that come standard in all 3500 models,
and the newest 4WD tailgate graphics. The year 1999 has been quite branded as
an interesting year of pickup trucks as several trucks are out to come, each beating
the other.
